My mother once told me, “Dream big, because as you age, that dream will become smaller.” Many things have changed over the years, but my drive to continue chasing my dreams has never faltered! Here’s my top 5 ways to stay on track, no matter what comes your way!
1. Keep Calm and Rest

No matter how busy you are today, try to make time to rest, even if it’s just for five minutes. Close your eyes, and fall into tranquility. This can be done anywhere:
- In your car during lunch break
- At home while doing chores
- Or airport rest stops while traveling.
I have also learned to try to stop stressing on the things I have no control over. Pray the Serenity Prayer as an everyday reminder: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

2. Take Time to Listen

We’ve all heard this one before, but now is the time to understand it’s real impact on our lives. Listen and only take in what is right and beneficial, even the advice given by family and friends; the rest is just all noise.
Keep focused every day by listening to people who share great testimonies and learn from their mistakes and successes. Follow great examples by applying the blueprints to your daily routine.

3. Renew Your Mind, Body, Spirit & Heart

Keeping your thoughts clear and the temple of God clean is an excellent way to start a positively driven plan. We can do this by meditating, praying and reading the Word of God first thing in the morning and last thing before bed.
Jot down everything that you have in mind and take notes as you grow in your faith and your craft. When we start practicing this, our hearts will change automatically towards being more pure and focused. Remember, everything starts from the mind, body, spirit, and heart.

4. Hone Your Craft

This particular tip applies especially to artists, whether it’s:
♥️ Vocalizing
♥️ Learning an instrument
♥️ Painting
♥️ Or acting
…make time in the day to review and practice your craft.
As busy as this fast-paced world is, never stop practicing your art, even if it takes five minutes of your time in a day. Take small baby steps, making one positive choice after another. Before you know it, you’ll be amazed at your progress and love what you’re doing even more!

5. Dive In Head First

As a single mom to a teenager, publishing a book or releasing an album wasn’t an easy task for me, but just doing it was the only way to make my dreams into realities. Everything starts with a thought or a dream, so once you have that thought or dream, get busy with making it happen. Even if you are scared to take the first step, take it anyway; it’ll be the only way to accomplish your goal.
It doesn’t matter if it is big or small; after the execution, celebrate your achievement as a reminder to yourself that you are a winner! And, by doing so, you’ll be empowered to help others reach their dreams as well.
