The pandemic launched us into a totally new way of living. How will you make it in the new world?

We, as human beings are capable of adapting to whatever new environment we are put into. To get a head start in mastering the online space, here’s our top 5 ways we can adapt to these new changes brought on by the pandemic.

1. Use New Multimedia Tools

These days software and the OS are quite user friendly and these applications are just tools for our daily life. For example, I started making thumbnail images for my audio clip channel with MS Powerpoint. It was very easy to create!

I got some helpful tips from a YouTube channel and I watched their tutorials a few times. It’s that simple! So, let’s be friends with and embrace the technology.

2. Level Up Your Zoom Game

…and all you have to do is log in and wear a shirt in front of the monitor.

Even before the pandemic hit hard, a lot of businesses throughout the world were more and more getting connected to each other through the internet. Now it’s “a must” to digitally connect. Great news, meet our new best friends:

  1. Zoom
  2. Skype
  3. Webex
  4. FaceTime
  5. Facebook Messenger
  6. Google Hangouts

3. Turn Your Space into a Power Office

Working from home is rewarding but has its challenges. How many times have you spent “only 5 minutes” working and it turns into 5 hours? We’ve all been there…

I’ve been a freelancer for over 15 years. From my experience, setting break times 2 or 3 times during your daily work is best.

Otherwise, you’ll keep working without getting adequate rest or keep getting distracted by the surroundings and relax too much (because yes…your TV and your comfy couch are waving at you!).

4. Take it Slow

Taking time to cool down is a great way to adapt to our new lifestyle. By being at home, you have your own space to yourself. No need to worry about being stuck in the traffic or dealing with the small talk of co-workers.

Let’s think about it this way: this contactless time period is a cherished and unique moment to reflect and refresh. Sleep more for your body instead of wasting time in your old daily commute. Your home should now be your safe space for self-care.

5. Take Care of Yourself, Your Body and Mind

Listen to your body (inside and out) and make sure you address all of your needs. There are many public medical help systems — more than before, due to the Pandemic. So, find your way to get help.

There are even apps and hotlines for seeing medical professionals from the comfort of your own home. The world is slowing down and now there are many options at your fingertips, so indulge in some self-care!

Which tips will you use to find your place in the virtual world? We’d love to hear from you.
