How much visibility do you want your brand to have?

When growing a brand is done correctly, you can give your brand the visibility it deserves. (Here’s a secret, it’s easier than you may think…) Here’s our top 5 tips to build up your brand to where you want it to be.

1. Do You Know Who Your Audience Is?

Before you begin to expand your brand awareness, you want to make sure you’re attracting the right people.

For example, if your brand sells athletic equipment, you wouldn’t want to target your brand towards tech fans. That’s not to say no tech fan is athletic, but it’s not your primary audience.

You want to think about what your brand is all about and then go from there to start gaining the attention you’re looking for to build up your brand into one with more outreach and influence.

2. Spread The Word!

You can’t be in three places at once, but you can tell three people about your business…and if they like it, they’re bound to talk about it to others and do the job of spreading awareness for you!

The more people who learn about you the better.

You can even start spreading the word somewhere simple like…

✔️ Your local college campus
✔️ Friends
✔️ Family
✔️ And at local events!

It may take some time but simply telling people about your business is bound to increase your brand in the long run.

3. Who Doesn’t Like Free Things?

Have you ever been to an event and seen a booth giving away free pens or stickers?

You’ve probably taken them up on their free offer, and now whenever you’re writing something down you get a glimpse of the brand on the pen they provided to you. Now not only are people reminded of the brand, but they also feel some loyalty towards them because hey, it was free!

It’s a cost-effective way of marketing yourself to an audience that will remember you.

Whatever items you produce, you can give out at local events or even just to carry with you in case a topic your brand relates to pops up in conversation.

4. Keep a Consistent Style

Think of these two words: “golden arches”. Did Mcdonald’s pop into your mind?

That’s because we’ve been seeing their famous logo since 1961, and it hasn’t changed a bit over all those years! You want the same for your brand, to be easily recognizable and when you see it, you know exactly what it’s about.

So whatever logo, color theme, or style you start with, make sure it stays consistent over your brand’s journey so you don’t confuse your audience when they shop with you in the future.

5. Use Social Media to Your Advantage!

Odds are, you already have a social media account. Now, it’s time to take it to the next level.

Create new accounts specifically for your brand so you can interact with your customers and receive helpful feedback. Everybody uses the internet which means you have the potential to reach millions of new people, all with a single smartphone or computer.

Post photos of your products and respond to as many messages you receive to not only earn new customers but also retain them too! Maintain a posting schedule and you’ll have people looking forward to your newest updates in no time.

I’ve written a prior blog post specifically about how to use social media for your brand that you can refer to for more in-depth information.

Summary:

Congrats for making it this far! Now is the time to get the word out there about your brand. What steps will you take towards building your brand? We’d love to hear from you.
