Anna pulls us into a dreamy, blissful and beautiful journey of soothing vocals and soundscapes.
“Dream big. Never let that dream go no matter what anyone thinks of it.” – Anna McBabe
Anna, welcome to VQS. Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
I’m a singer/songwriter born and raised in Massachusetts. My music journey started in high school and it’s been a wild ride ever since! I released my first single this year called “Places I Should Be” and couldn’t be happier with the love I received since its release. Since then I’ve put out a new single called “Paradise”, which has a more upbeat, relaxed kind of vibe to even out the sadness of “PISB”.
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration for this song?
Released 08/28/2020. I was in a time in my life when everything around me was going wrong, and my closest friend was living through it with me. We both were so overwhelmed and lost, and we just needed a break. One day, as we watched the sunset, it just hit us at the same time; we had found our paradise. And I immediately went to the piano and started writing.
“Let’s go a take dip, take a dip inside our minds. Never let you fall behind.” – from ‘Paradise’
What is your vision for this song? What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
I want my audience to remember that even when things are going wrong in their lives, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, even if that tunnel is incredibly long. That they can find their own paradise if they really just close their eyes and imagine it. Dream big. Never let that dream go no matter what anyone thinks of it.
What is your favorite part of the song?
When my album comes out, there will be a song that follows “Paradise” called “Paradise Outro”. The transition between the two songs is so smooth, it feels like one song; one journey.
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases? Upcoming events?
I’m currently working with a team to create my album “LOVE LIFE”, and we have made some great progress this year. I don’t have any new releases as of now, but I’ll be making updates when the album is closer to being finished!
