Carolina, thank you for joining us today at VQS. Take us back in time to how you first fell in love with music.
I fell in love with music when I was about 5 years old and I saw Christina Aguilera music video ‘Genie in a bottle’ on MTV. I got fascinated by the pop culture! I knew I wanted to perform at shows, sing, dance and be part of music videos!
What 3 core values do you believe are necessary for success?
1. Passion
2. Hard work
3. Honesty
Who have been some of your favorite people/projects to work with?
I always like to embrace cultural diversity and women empowerment when it comes to music and dance. So music wise, it’s always a pleasure to work with my dearest Peruvian music producer Emmanuel Mendives, Vago Galindo from Mexico on the mixes and Jett Galindo from the Philippines on the mastering. Other collaborators, include Cuja and Ali Stone who are amazing music producers embracing women empowerment. Then, when it comes to dance, I love working with my great friends, who have become my sisters: Cecilia Wen, Jamie Cheung, Jianne Jade, Sotida Arpon, among many others… literally the list would get so much bigger!
What future opportunities would you like to be involved with?
So I do both music (songwriting, toplining, melody writing, recording, etc.) and dance choreography. In both aspects of my life I’m definitely interested in contributing to the female work and embracing the cultural diversity in the industry. So projects that I’d like to be involved with are female related, either collaborating as a songwriter with female music producers, songwriters and artist or participating in the creative aspect of choreographing dance for female artists on music videos or live performances.
