Chambers, welcome to VQS! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Hi! My name is Lisa Chamberlain, my friends and fans call me CHAMBERS. I’m from Minneapolis, MN and grew up performing while taking piano lessons from my grandma. I’ve been living in Los Angeles staying busy with my music! My music is honest and pure with piano trills of delicate hope and powerhouse breathy vocals!

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration for this song?
Released 08/14/2020. I wrote this song right after a breakup and the original title for years was “I Pretend To Be So Strong”. However, when preparing with my vocal coach extraordinaire, Rachel Kiser, I realized the original chorus did’t resonate with me anymore! I was not pretending-I am strong!” I then rewrote the bridge and the end of the song to turn it into a powerful, uplifting anthem.

What is your vision for this song? What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
When I wrote and recorded “Strong” I had no idea the world would soon crash into a global pandemic. The timing of this release is so fitting and I hope it encourages my listeners. Sometimes you aren’t going to feel strong and you have to push through each day or a season of life. With the pandemic so many things in my world have been turned upside down and I’ve been uplifted by the poetic words of David in the Psalms reminding me where the source of my strength and faith come!

What is your favorite part of the song?
My favorite part of the song is the beginning and the end with the harmonized “ooh’s.” I had everyone who worked on my album sing on this track and at the end will all sing “you are strong” & “we are strong” It’s very fitting for what the world is going through right now!
