Erin, welcome back to VQS! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Hey y’all I’m Erin Cosgrove and I’m a country singer, songwriter and actress based in Los Angeles, and Nashville. I’ve been very blessed to have had the opportunity to open and write with some amazing people such as Big & Rich, Love & Theft, Russell Dickerson, Danielle Bradberry and A Thousand Horses as well as my wonderful Grammy award winning producer Mikal Blue over the past few years and I have to say I’m on cloud nine!
My first debut single and music video, “Tennessee Lie”, was released on May 17th, 2019 and was overnight hit with over 20k views in the first week! Because of the video and single’s success, I was asked to play some really incredible shows all over the country including Oakheart Country Music Festival, Round up country music festival at LA LIVE, Paddy Fest and the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball Stadium as well as few others!
Aside from music I also act and I’ve been very privileged to be able to work with some wonderful actors and appear on some really cool shows as well. I was so excited to work with Dax Shepard on Parenthood when I Co-Starred with him a few years ago. My friend and I also got to write the music and perform it on the show! I do admit though, I feel most at home in front of a crowd or a camera.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration when you were writing this song?
This is an easy one! My inspiration for this song was my now husband. I wrote it for him for our wedding day and surprised him and all of our guests, including our families, right after our first dance.
I wrote it about all the silly adventures we had together, the first time we met and how our relationship really took flight. It’s extremely relatable and I really think the true, raw emotions in the song will give you the same feelings I had when I was writing it.
What is your vision for this song? What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
My vision for the song is that you feel what I felt when I wrote it and sing it. It’s a love song, and it’s real, raw and emotional. I think the audience will feel these and many more emotions when they hear it and that is my goal.
What is your favorite part of the song?
It’s so hard to say what my favorite part of the song is, because it’s all a big story that you can’t really pick apart. If I had to choose it would probably be the chorus because it’s the catchiest part of the song and it gets stuck in your head for days!
