Gerle takes us to the bold edges of honesty and attitude.
Playful, sarcastic and irresistible!

Gerle’s story telling and delivery is infectious! Her light and delicate voice is matched perfectly with sweet harmonies, dreamy synth lines and incredible production. “Worst Song Ever” is clever and reminds me of the 80s pop stars like Cindy Lauper and Toni Basil.

Hi Gerle, welcome to VQS!
Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
I am an indie-pop artist based out of California. My influences hail from the likes of Robyn, Miley Cyrus, and Madonna.
My music is bubbly, upbeat, and effervescent, but also plays with themes of broken trust, heartbreak, and deep love.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration for this new song?
Released 6/25/21. Thank you! I decided to stop trying to write the most perfect, meaningful, brooding songs and took the pressure off.
I wanted to write a catchy bastard of a song that people would hate me for if I am being honest.
I wanted to have fun, after this last year I feel like the world needs this song right now and most people can relate!
What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
I think music these days needs a big bitch slap and I know a lot of people agree! This song should be the anthem for that, a fun summer bop that you can scream at the top of your lungs and also dance to and just be cute and aggressive and let it all go!
What is your favorite part of the song?
I love singing “I wanna throw up now, I’m gonna throw up now.” It’s so fun!
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?
This is the first of many releases this summer, I couldn’t be more excited! Next up is one of my favorites of all time. A love song with a creepy twist! I can’t wait to share!
