I recently released 2 singles. Rescue Me and Someday. Rescue Me is about mental health, which I am passionate about. While the song is called Rescue Me, it is really about Rescuing and empowering yourself. The music video is on my YouTube channel. Someday is about my sweet friend that I lost in a car accident. She is missed by so many. It is my tribute to her. I hope this song resonates with anyone who has lost someone they love. I have 2 more singles releasing in June and July and then a full album in the Fall. I am very lucky to be working with a dedicated producer from London, UK. Yiannis Christofides @mtecacad. We bounce ideas back and forth and have been a killer team. I can’t wait to share the full album.
Hi Heather, welcome to VQS! Take us back in time to how you first fell in love with music.
I come from a musical family. My dad plays the guitar and was jamming out all the time. He had several electric and acoustic guitars. He introduced me to so many rock bands. My mom was a piano teacher. Instruments were all over our house, so naturally I was always playing around on them. I can’t quite remember how I realized I could sing, but I started getting attention for it at a very young age. I loved our karaoke machine we got for Christmas one year. I played on that thing so much.

What 3 core values do you believe are necessary for success?
Hard Work
Who have been some of your favorite people/projects to work with?
The past 18 months I have been collaborating with musicians ALL around the world. I love getting out of my bubble and creating with people of other cultures and languages. It’s rewarding! One of my favorites I have worked with is my mastering engineer, François Rocheleau from Montreal, Canada. He has pushed me to become better and encouraged me so much. In fact, he is the one that encouraged me to write original music. I was working on only covers when we met. He said “Hey, you need to write your own material. You would be amazing.” I didn’t know if I would be successful, but I went for it. I can’t believe how far I have come since that time. I have since composed loads of material for not only my solo work, but also for my band. Sometimes all you need is one person to give you that little push. Working on my debut album with producer Yiannis Christofides is a dream come true. He is crazy talented and plays several instruments. A class act producer with incredible work ethic! I do not take the people that are investing in my musical journey for granted. Beyond grateful!

What future opportunities would you like to be involved with?
I would love to play some shows with my band and release an album with them. We have some amazing songs that need to be heard! I would also love to play my solo music and possibly tour eventually. Anything that involves traveling combined with music would be amazing. Another idea that has been on my mind… contributing to the music community through videos teaching various tips whether it be confidence on stage, tips for pushing past writers block, etc. I would be open to others using my voice in their songs as well, as a source of income. If I could do literally ANYTHING I wanted musically, I would want the role of a Disney princess. 🙂 I’ve always felt I had the right type of voice, and have been told that throughout my life as well. Actually, any role as a Disney voice would be a dream come true.
