Hi Lance, welcome to VQS!
Tell us a little bit about you and your music.

I am a Nashville based Singer and Songwriter.

I grew up in a small country town in Arkansas called Batesville. Growing up we didn’t really have a lot of activities to do around town, so I spent all my time in my room writing songs, singing, playing guitar, and just trying to hone in on my craft. When I wasn’t in my room playing music, I was out in the woods hunting deer, turkey, and doing some fishing.

I’ve been going to Nashville now for the last five to six years, and during that time I have been very blessed to work with some of the top industry professionals in town. Two years ago, I started working with Grammy-nominated producer Kent Wells, best known as the legendary Dolly Parton’s Producer. Working with Kent has been an absolute blast and such a great learning experience. Kent produced “Land Of The Free” along with my recent singles, “Small Town America” and “Heart That Matters.” We will be releasing the rest of the album in singles soon.

Congrats on the release!
What was your inspiration for this new song?

Released August 12, 2021. “Land Of The Free” was inspired by an idea I had to take all of the 90’s country hit titles and phrases and put them all together to tell a story. So I sat down with my friends Taylor Marie Wagner and Chris Powers and wrote this song. If you listen closely to the verses you may hear song favorites you were raised on.

The song is such a fun upbeat party song that makes you want to relax and take a long drive.

When writing this song we loved the fact that the idea and title covered so many things in one. For example, “Land Of The Free” can be your barn burner song, it can be your patriotic song, it can be your relax and feel free song, it can be your date night song, and it can be your take you back in time song.

What was your vision for “Land of the Free”?
What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?

I would love to see my fans take this song to number one on the charts.

As a songwriter/singer, you always hope for the best for your songs, but at the end of the day, it’s the fans that make the vision you had a reality.

The biggest thing I could hope the listener takes from this song is so many times we forget to relax and enjoy the little things of life like taking a long drive with no destination just to clear your head, treating your girl to the perfect date night of just spending quality time with her, or just having the time in our busy days to have fun and enjoy an up-tempo party song.

What is your favorite part of the song?

My favorite thing about “Land Of The Free” is I feel like it fits a wide variety of listeners. With the storyline being based on old classic hits, it brings in the audience who grew up listening to those songs when they came out, and with the perfect blend of modern, classic, rock sound, it brings the young and the elderly both in.

Anything else we should know about it?
Future releases? Upcoming events?

I am excited to see what God has in store for me and my career.

I recently just got off tour, playing shows in Jacksonville FL at the Jaguar Stadium, Greensboro North Carolina at the White Oak Amphitheater, Nashville TN, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, South Carolina, and more! I had a great time out on the road on the bus, getting to meet so many great people, and look forward to seeing everyone on the next tour.

Currently, my team and I are working very hard on getting these new songs promoted, and getting the new music off the rest of the album released.

I also have been very blessed earlier in the year to be contracted to debut a new song off the new album at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN this coming year! I thank all my fans for helping me achieve my dreams along the way!
