Latest News: Right now, I am working on three different projects. One of them is my own song in cinematic pop genre, the other two are collaborations with my friends Caroline Gleave (musician, producer/composer) and Steven Buckner (Composer/producer) in cinematic, ambient/hybrid genre.
Nelly, thank you for joining us today at VQS. Take us back in time to how you first fell in love with music.
I am a singer-songwriter, composer and piano player. I remember in 1998 I won a music competition here in my town Belgrade. It was something that I will never forget. When I walked on stage, the microphone was there, the audience was really eager to hear a 12 year old girl. “How would she sing the native Serbian song?” they all thought. I was in love with that song, “Ruse Kose”, even before, on the rehearsals with my music teacher. That was the first time I have heard my voice on the microphone with reverb. My emotions embraced my whole body and the music hall. Although I was completely overwhelmed, I remained calm and confident, just by hearing my voice! While i was singing I thought: ” Oh my gosh! How can I sound so powerful, how is this happening, is this real?” After the competition, I was still in shock, how did I do it? How come I didn’t collapse from stage fright? This is me. This is what I want to do. I want people to hear my voice. I want to tell them my story.
Years later, I began to compose my original music during an emotional breakdown that inspired me to see a new musical horizon.

What 3 core values do you believe are necessary for success?
We are all very different when it comes to art, music, life in general. It s very important to stay truthful to your own path and destiny.
My music and artistic path were not really the easy one. I struggled a lot from the lack of time, because i had to work regular job to survive. However, I believe that no matter what you do, no matter where you are and what you have, you must know who you are and how valuable you are. Success will come, if you have a clear vision of your goals. It took me awhile, but now I have that vision.
1. Persistence: If i believe that something will really fall from the sky, than I live in movie world, or fantasy…
I need a fantasy world to stay creative but still sane and keep my spirit high. At the same time, my body is here in this “real” world where I know, that I need to pursue what I want and what will bring me, the most important thing, peace.
2. Passion: In the past and even now  I struggle with mental fatigue and that life is unfair to me. But, that is where the puzzle changes. I threw the dice 5 years ago and just decided to have passion for what I do. I will manage perfectly no matter what number I will get at the end. Passion is strong and it’s like a beautiful electric wind that purifies the doubts and indifference. I can feel it each day when I wake up. It gives me courage to know that I can improve myself and help others. Passion and success for me work together.
3. Powerful Relationships: More than ever, people need now compassion and understanding for what they are doing. The music and art world are full of really talented, passionate people but somehow, some of them need to be really be heard. Connecting with other musicians is very important to stay alive and bring your own shine through that global, artistic network and grow together through new projects and visions.

Who have been some of your favorite people/projects to work with?
I have to say, with no doubts, Steven Buckner. He is a very polite, friendly, open, intuitive and creative soul. He believes in people, that they can bring something way more than their potential. I am looking forward to working with him on more projects.
What future opportunities would you like to be involved with?
I still struggle with time, finances and circumstances but, I know that something great is coming.
I look forward to a beautiful wind of change. I want to continue to evolve and grow as a singer-songwriter and get placements in media like TV, film, video games and commercials. I would also love to hear my voice in very good movie trailer and to work with highly ranked producers and song-writers. As for my art and paintings, I think I would touch the universe if they could be featured in album covers or billboard movie posters.
