Prince, thank you for joining us today at VQS. Take us back in time to how you first fell in love with music.
I remember music being a part of just about every occasion my entire life. Church, School, at home, and in the car. It was just always around. I think i fell in love with music once I started to write, record, and produce music of my own. Creating and being involved in music for so many years almost seems like a relationship.
What’s new in Princes’ world?
I released an Album titled “Manifest Destiny” on January 1st 2020 and it is currently available on all platforms. I also filmed my first music video of the year. The next single and music video are in the works.
What 3 core values do you believe are necessary for success?
My number 1 core value that I believe to be necessary for success is a will that is strong enough to continue even when things become so difficult that you can’t think of any good reason to go on. Some of the most successful people in the world got to were they are simply because they never quit. The 2nd most important thing is self reliance. Self reliance leads to self discipline, self motivation, and self awareness. I have found that the road to success can become very lonely but it’s in those moments when you have no one to turn to for help that you discover what you are truly made of and it forces you to evolve. The 3rd thing is adaptation. The world is constantly changing and even though your ultimate goal may stay the same, your plans and the process may need to change in order to adapt to the circumstances.
Who have been some of your favorite people/projects to work with?
My older brother is a Rapper, Singer, Songwriter, Producer, and Engineer that goes by the name “RIO DEZONERO”. He is one of my favorite people to work with because he understands me in a very unique way since we are connected by blood. His attention to detail and knowledge of music has helped me become a better artist. I could go on forever about my big bro.
CRIZ1 is the founder of Affiliate Entertainment and one of my favorite Producers to work with because of his ability to create music in any genre including a range from 70s grooves to today’s hip-hop. He produced some of the music that is on my current Album as well as several Remixes that will be released very soon.
Justina Beth-El is a very talented Singer, Songwriter, and Guitarist who is also a featured artist in this blog series. She is one of my favorite people to work with because she is very professional, precise, and always puts on an amazing live performance. She is also a great friend who always inspires me to use more of my potential.
What future opportunities would you like to be involved with?
There are so many new things I am planning on being involved with in the very near future but the thing I have been dying to do more of is Acting. I recently filmed a web series called “The Life Of Bern” and I am looking to get into film, commercials, and theater as well.
