Sandra, thank you for joining us today at VQS. Take us back in time to how you first fell in love with music.

Music has always been my number 1 go to. To be honest I don’t remember that specific moment where I was pulled in because I was fortunate to simply always have it around me. Both my parents are huge music lovers and my dad says to this day that my love for music started even before I was born, as he put headphones on my moms belly with his favorite rock band playing. My dad also plays the guitar so I picked up instruments very early on and started singing in church choirs after school. I have a very clear memory of a family vacation when I was 8 as well where we saw this troubadour play an outdoors show of covers. I had to be up front next to the stage just to enjoy every minute of it and afterwards he carried me backstage and gave me my first autograph. To an eight year old that was huge! I’ve just always dreamt about being on stage and sang and danced around the house.

What 3 core values do you believe are necessary for success?

Passion, dedication and perseverance will definitely be needed for you to succeed and remain in this industry. Nothing comes easy and having a traditional “break-through” is increasingly more rare today. You have to be sure you’re staying true to what you love and be prepared to work hard for a longer period of time. That way you can make sure you’ll achieve a lot, probably even more than you ever thought possible.

Who have been some of your favorite people/projects to work with?

My own singing career is still fairly new as my first experience on stage was here in LA in the beginning of 2016. I will undoubtedly say that my favorite person to work with is my guitarist/producer Juan Abella. We’ve built up such a good teamwork over the years now and completely trust each other in the creative process of making songs. He helped me write my very first song and from that day on we’ve just kept moving forward. We are now finishing up a number of songs for my first EP that I plan to have out later this year.

What future opportunities would you like to be involved with?

I really love to perform and meet and connect with people from everywhere so for me it would be a dream to get to book a tour throughout America. I would also love to get to play more festivals and maybe even be included one day on the bigger stages with all the other country names we know and love. Every opportunity always leads to something else so by moving forward in my career I would hope to continuously get to meet more industry people and musicians to work with and get inspired by. Another branch of this that I haven’t really tried yet also is the music placement. I would absolutely love to get to hear one of my songs in a TV show or movie one day. Nashville is also next on my list! Still haven’t made my way out there so really hoping to be able to go before the end of the year.
