Hi Tine, welcome to VQS!
Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
My name is Tine and I am a Swedish singer and songwriter. I grew up in a very musically interested and talented family so music has always been a very big part of my life. When I was a kid, I sang in a lot of different choirs and I took piano and vocal lessons. I always had a secret dream of becoming a singer and performer, however, I was very shy so it took me years to actually perform solo in front of any kind of audience. After I graduated high school, I decided that I should become a psychologist and I put my singing dreams aside for a couple of years.
My strength as a songwriter is the combination of emotional and impactful lyrics
After working as a psychologist for a couple of years I decided to move to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute and focus on my musical journey. After graduating I decided to stay in LA to work on my solo project. In 2020 I released my first singles “Darkside” and “Addiction” under my artist name “Tine”. My strength as a songwriter is the combination of emotional and impactful lyrics with catchy choruses. “Two to Break Us” was released two weeks ago and it’s my third single. It’s written by me and produced by Oscar Linnander. Genre wise I call it dark pop.
Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration for this new single?
Released 3/26/21. “Two to Break Us” i’s my third single. It is inspired by a breakup and how easy it is for everything to get very one-sided.
This song is where I get to tell my side of the story.
I wanted “Two to Break Us” to be very focused on the vocals and for the instrumentation to create the right ambiance and platform for the lyrics to shine and I am very happy with how this song turned out.
What was your vision for this song? What lessons would you like to impart to your audience?
Every song that I write is straight from my heart and I put so much of myself in it. I hope that people will hear that and that they can relate to it and whoever needs it can feel a little less lonely in their situation.
What is your favorite part of this song?
My favourite part is the second verse. I love the lyrics and the entire vibe of that part of the song.
Anything else we should know about it? Future releases? Upcoming events?
I have a couple of songs that are being mastered as we speak that I will release in the upcoming months.
