Xtina, welcome to VQS! Tell us a little bit about you and your music.
Hey I’m Xtina Jewell aka Christina, I’m an independent artist from Toronto, CAN. I grew up all over Canada, we moved a lot. I was obsessed with horses and classical music. I started writing songs when I was around 17, they were silly. But then I realized I could actually write decent stuff so I kept going!

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration for this song?
Inspiration for “Angel” was a soft breakup. The kind where you broke up yesterday but you know you’re not done. So it’s in a fragile but valiant state. Heartbreak denial.

What is your vision for this song? What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?
Honestly, I hope someone else can relate to the weird middle earth feeling of this stage in a break up. Also I did not give up on how I wanted this song to sound, vocals, mixing, etc. If you have a clear vision, be stubborn about it.

What is your favorite part of the song?
My favourite part of this song is the prechorus before the drop “I won’t stop, fighting for a fairy tale…” because I rewrote the melody on it about 3 times. Also, I love the drop into the chorus, the big vocals there are cool.
