MADDISUN

Maddisun is a free-spirited indie pop/folk artist from the mountains of British Columbia, Canada.
Her dreamy, soulful vocals and expressive lyrics provide comfort and inspiration. Maddisun plays a mix of keyboard/synth, electronic Drum and Bass pads and electric guitar. Her original songs explore coming of age, love, and travel. With influences such as The Pretenders, Maggie Rogers, and Amy Winehouse, Maddisun delightfully mixes her individual indie sound with undertones of soulful blues and folk.

Maddisun, thank you for joining us today at VQS. What core values do you believe are necessary for success?
I was always taught hard work and integrity. I believe success is something that you earn and need to work for. I’ve learned over the years playing music that success is about letting go of your ego and constantly learning. I practice frequently and i know that i can always be a stronger musician.
Who have been some of your favorite people/projects to work with?
I have worked with some really cool artists all over the world! I especially enjoyed the verses I wrote and sung for hip hop artist “Indite”. This was really moving and it was so fun to genre bend and use my expressive/soulful vocals mixed with heavy hip hop beats and rapping. I also miss working with my high school band “Wizard Lizard”. The songs were full of angst and passion and I had just began to really find myself in songwriting. A bit of exciting news is that I will be working with my guitarist Kyle again on my new album “Self Reflections” releasing Aug 2020.
What future opportunities would you like to be involved with?
I would really like to be involved with more projects in the States. I am beginning to broaden my fan base in Canada and I would like to expand into the States! I enjoyed meeting with Philip of VisionQuest and getting a chance to explore L.A!
Future touring and collaboration opportunities would be really beneficial. I would like to work with some influential artists and my dream collab would be with Maggie Rogers… maybe one day! For now I am going to take this opportunity to record my first album and grow my content online.
